Women's Lacrosse Slotted 10th in Latest IWLCA Division II Poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. (Apr. 27, 2015) - After wrapping up the 2015 regular season at 13-4 overall, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team has been ranked 10th in Monday's IWLCA Division II Top-20 Poll.

The Pioneers, who earned 195 points in the ledger, posted a third-consecutive undefeated regular-season in-league record (8-0), following an 18-1 rout of Queens on Sunday (Apr. 26). Red-shirt sophomore attacker Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) led all players with eight points (3 G, 5 A) in the victory. LIU Post has now won 22 straight East Coast Conference contests, dating back to Mar. 20, 2013.

Lock Haven topped Adelphi for the No. 1 slot, as the Panthers suffered their first loss of 2015 to now-No. 5 New Haven, 10-5, on Wednesday. Lindenwood and Le Moyne also flip-flopped at third and fourth, respectively.

Florida Southern dipped one notch to No. 6, while Stonehill stood pat at No. 7. Rollins skyrocketed three places to eighth. Mercyhurst, after an 11-9 loss to unranked Slippery Rock, dropped from sixth to ninth.

In the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, LIU Post came in at No. 14 in this week's poll. New Haven, coming off its upset of Adelphi, moved up to No. 4. Rollins and Mount Olive both climbed five spots to crack the Top-10.

Head Coach Meghan McNamara and the Pioneers now enter the ECC Championship as the No. 1 seed. They will host fourth-seeded Molloy in a semifinal contest on Thursday (Apr. 30) at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium at 3 p.m. in Brookville, N.Y.
