CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Apr. 6, 2015) - For the second-consecutive week, LIU Post sophomore hurler Ashley Martin (Long Beach, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Martin posted a 2-0 record and a 0.54 earned-run average in two starts last week. She threw two complete games, including one shutout, while fanning 10 batters in 13.0 innings of work. Martin also scattered just seven hits and limited hitters to a minuscule .149 batting average against.

She started the week Tuesday (Mar. 31) with a six-strikeout performance in a rain-shortened 5-1 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. The Long Beach native followed that up by tossing a complete-game, two-hit shutout versus Bridgeport on Wednesday (Apr. 1).

Martin and the Pioneers return to the field Tuesday (Apr. 7), in a non-conference twinbill against Caldwell at the LIU Post Softball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
