BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 7, 2015) - Coming off a 13-4 victory at Bridgeport last Wednesday, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team held down the No. 9 ranking in Monday's IWLCA Division II Top-20 Poll.
Red-shirt sophomore attacker
Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) had a game-best five points (2 G, 3 A) in Wednesday's win. Senior midfielder
Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.) tallied three goals. Sophomore midfielder
Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) added two goals and an assist for a three-point outing.
Between the pipes, freshman
Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.), the two-time reigning East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, made six saves. She allowed just two goals in 52 minutes of work, tying her season-low (yielded two goals at Molloy on Mar. 28).
Boasting a 10-0 record, Adelphi was the near-unanimous No. 1. The Panthers earned 398 points and 18 of a possible 20 first-place votes. Lock Haven earned the other two first-place nods to remain second.
Lindenwood also held its ground in third. Le Moyne and Florida Southern flip-flopped at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, while Stonehill (No. 6) and New Haven (No. 7) traded places, as well.
Mercyhurst and Rollins, which narrowly edged Limestone by one point, bookended LIU Post to round out the Top-10. The Pioneers amassed 239 points in the tally, an improvement of 10 points from last week.
In the Lacrosse Magazine poll, Adelphi again held court atop the rankings. Lock Haven, Lindenwood, Stonehill, Florida Southern and Le Moyne all followed in suit.
Mercyhurst and New Haven individually switched places at No. 7 and No. 8. Rollins (No. 9) and Limestone (No. 10) both maintained their positions, before LIU Post came in at No. 11.

Meghan McNamara and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Apr. 8), when they square off with No. 16 and East Coast Conference rival Dowling at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
