Women's Lacrosse Jumps to Ninth in IWLCA Division II Poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. (May 4, 2015) - After a convincing 11-6 win over Dowling in Saturday's East Coast Conference Championship, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team rose one spot to No. 9 in the IWLCA Division II Poll, released Monday.

Senior midfielder Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.), who earned the tournament's Most Outstanding Player Award, had eight goals in the Pioneers' two postseason games. Red-shirt sophomore attacker Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) allocated seven assists. Between the pipes, freshman goalie Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) stopped 13 shots, while boasting a 4.57 goals-against average and a .619 save percentage.

Lock Haven remained at No. 1, again racking up 397 points and 17 first-place votes. Adelphi received the other three first-place votes and stood pat in second. Lindenwood, Le Moyne and New Haven all held its ground to round out the Top-5.

Florida Southern occupied the No. 6 slot for a second-straight week. Rollins and Stonehill each accumulated the same number of points (273) to finish in a tie for seventh. Mercyhurst dipped one place to 10th.
