DANBURY, Conn. (Jun. 10, 2015) - On Wednesday, sophomore pitcher Ashley Martin (Long Beach, N.Y.) of the LIU Post softball team was chosen to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II All-Star Second Team.

Martin, the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year, has also earned Capital One Academic All-District and Daktronics All-East Region first-team accolades in 2015. She was a three-time ECC Pitcher of the Week, as well.

Martin recorded a league-best 18 victories in the circle with a 1.61 earned-run average and 120 strikeouts. Additionally, the Long Beach native led the ECC in innings pitched (169.2), complete games (20) and shutouts (8).

In the national landscape, Martin ranked in the Top-50 in Division II in three statistical categories. She was 16th in shutouts, 28th in ERA and 43rd in hits allowed per seven innings (5.45).
