Women's Swimming Recognized as CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jun. 30, 2015) - The LIU Post women's swimming team has been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division II Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2015 semester, it was announced Tuesday.

The Pioneers tied Florida Tech for the seventh-highest grade-point average in Division II, boasting a clip of 3.55. They were also third among Metropoltan Conference teams, trailing only Queens College and the College of Saint Rose.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a program must have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the specified semester. A record-total of 406 collegiate swimming and diving teams earned the honor in Spring 2015.

In 2014-15, LIU Post captured its third-consecutive Metropolitan Conference Championship and recorded its highest-ever finish (7th) at the NCAA Division II Championships. Five swimmers raced to NCAA All-America distinction, while 14 Pioneers garnered All-Met accolades. Additionally, Maureen Travers was tabbed as the Metropolitan Conference Coach of the Year.
