No. 8 Field Hockey Edged By Stonehill, 1-0
Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 27, 2015) - In a Sunday matinee at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium, the No. 8 LIU Post field hockey team fell to Stonehill College, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action.
Despite earning 11 penalty corners in the contest, the Pioneers (3-3, 1-2 NE-10) were kept off the scoreboard. Meanwhile, a 15th-minute tally by the Skyhawks' Erika Kelly (5-3, 3-0 NE-10) was all the visitors needed.
LIU Post, which outshot Stonehill 11-9, was held without a shot on goal for the first 17-plus minutes of the opening half. Freshman forward
Kaycee Zelkovsky (Lambertville, N.J.) had the first on-target attempt for the Pioneers, but Skyhawks' freshman goalie Sara Freedman (Hopkinton, Mass.) came up with the save.

Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) made a game-high six saves for LIU Post. Her counterpart, Freedman, turned aside three shots for Stonehill.
