Brazier Nabs CollegeSwimming.com Metro Swimmer of the Week Award

SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 20, 2016) - On Tuesday, CollegeSwimming.com gave out its weekly honors, and LIU Post senior Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) was named the Metropolitan Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Brazier, who last received the award on Dec. 8, raced to a pair of individual first-place finishes in last Saturday's 109-94 victory against Siena College.

She won the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, touching the pad at 52.19 and 1:54.81, respectively. Brazier's time in the 100-free was also a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II Championships.

In addition to her two individual wins, Brazier anchored the 200-yard medley relay, which recorded an NCAA "B" cut of 1:42.55, and swam the first leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that finished first at 3:37.87.

Brazier and the Pioneers return to the pool on Saturday (Jan. 23) at 1 p.m. in a dual meet against Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
