BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2016) - The LIU Post women's soccer team won its sixth-consecutive game Monday, defeating Caldwell University, 4-0, in a non-conference match at Pioneer Soccer Park.
The Pioneers (8-2-1) scored on each of their first two shots to grab a quick 2-0 advantage. In the 22nd minute, freshman forward
Julia Duffy (Oceanside, N.Y.) re-directed a
Gabrielle Clark (Edmonds, Wash.) cross into the right side of the mesh for the game's opening tally.
Nearly six minutes later, junior midfielder
Klara Berggren (Stockholm, Sweden) cleaned up a loose ball in front to double the green and gold's lead.
LIU Post wasn't done there. Freshman midfielder
Medina Mulic (Ridgewood, N.Y.) ripped an
Alice Schonfeldt (Burtrask, Sweden) pass into the net in the 41st minute. That sent the Pioneers into the half with a comfortable 3-0 cushion.
Sophomore forward
Andrea Huntzinger (Stockholm, Sweden) wrapped up the afternoon's scoring for the hosts in the latter half. She tallied her team-leading fourth goal of 2016 in the 57th minute, off a feed from Duffy.

Hillevi Eklow (Väröbacka, Sweden) and graduate netminder
Katelyn Phillips (Littleton, Colo.) combined to make two saves in the shutout effort for LIU Post, which owned an 18-7 edge in shots in the contest.
