BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2016) - The LIU Post women's soccer team won its sixth-consecutive game Monday, defeating Caldwell University, 4-0, in a non-conference match at Pioneer Soccer Park.

The Pioneers (8-2-1) scored on each of their first two shots to grab a quick 2-0 advantage. In the 22nd minute, freshman forward Julia Duffy (Oceanside, N.Y.) re-directed a Gabrielle Clark (Edmonds, Wash.) cross into the right side of the mesh for the game's opening tally.

Nearly six minutes later, junior midfielder Klara Berggren (Stockholm, Sweden) cleaned up a loose ball in front to double the green and gold's lead.

LIU Post wasn't done there. Freshman midfielder Medina Mulic (Ridgewood, N.Y.) ripped an Alice Schonfeldt (Burtrask, Sweden) pass into the net in the 41st minute. That sent the Pioneers into the half with a comfortable 3-0 cushion.

Sophomore forward Andrea Huntzinger (Stockholm, Sweden) wrapped up the afternoon's scoring for the hosts in the latter half. She tallied her team-leading fourth goal of 2016 in the 57th minute, off a feed from Duffy.

Sophomore goalie Hillevi Eklow (Väröbacka, Sweden) and graduate netminder Katelyn Phillips (Littleton, Colo.) combined to make two saves in the shutout effort for LIU Post, which owned an 18-7 edge in shots in the contest.

Head Coach Mark Dawson and the Pioneers return to the pitch Friday (Oct. 14), when they face East Coast Conference opponent Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester at 5 p.m.
