PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 19, 2016) - On Saturday, the LIU Post women's swimming team continued racing against perennial Division I programs at the Frank Elm Invitational, hosted by Rutgers University in Piscataway.
In the 100-yard backstroke, junior
Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) won the "B" final and clocked an NCAA provisional time of 56.74.
Sophomore
Eline Swensen (Langhus, Norway) swam a lifetime-best 1:54.41 in the 200-yard freestyle, while freshman
Tove Sparrman (Upplands Väsby, Sweden) added a 1:54.07. Sparrman touched the pad at a personal-record 1:52.98 in the preliminaries of the 200-free.
Sophomore
Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand), who posted a lifetime-best 1:05.65 in the preliminaries of the 100-yard breaststroke, finished at 1:06.11 in the finals. Junior
Jacqueline Tonn (Edmonton, Alberta) made it to the wall at a personal-record 1:08.88 in the 100-breast prelims.
Sophomore
Elin Kvarnemar (Varberg, Sweden) broke the one-minute mark (59.59) in the 100-back for the first time in her collegiate career. Freshman
Jessica Argelander (La Verne, Calif.) clocked a 1:05.30 in the same event.
Sophomore
Brianna LiCausi (Howard Beach, N.Y.) and freshman
Elizabeth Law (Chester Springs, Pa.) each raced to personal-bests in the 100-fly. LiCausi swam a 1:01.97. Law completed the stroke in 1;01.82.
Lastly, in the preliminaries of the 200-free, sophomore
Karis Fuller (London, England) finished at a season-best 1:56.27.

Michael Travers and the Pioneers are back in action Sunday (Nov. 20), when they round out competition at the Frank Elm Invitational at Rutgers University in Piscataway.
