Final Results
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 20, 2016) - On Sunday, the LIU Post women's swimming team finished 10th at the Frank Elm Invitational, hosted by Rutgers University in Piscataway.
The Pioneers had three different swimmers race to NCAA provisional marks on the invite's final day.
Sophomore
Karis Fuller (London, England) came in 11th in the 1,650-yard freestyle, clocking a school-record 17:22.63. Her time was also good for an NCAA "B" cut.
Sophomore
Eline Swensen (Langhus, Norway) was 17th (17:32.82) and swam to an NCAA "B" cut in the process.
Junior
Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) touched the pad at an NCAA-provisional 51.47 in the 100-yard freestyle.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, junior
Jacqueline Tonn (Edmonton, Alberta) and sophomore
Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand) each recorded personal-bests. Johnstone finished at 2:23.49, while Tonn made it to the wall in 2:26.50.
Three Pioneers notched lifetime-bests in the preliminaries of the 200-yard backstroke. Fuller clocked a 2:03.51. Sophomore
Elin Kvarnemar (Varberg, Sweden) raced to a time of 2:08.85. Freshman
Cassie St. Angelo (Wakefield, R.I.) completed the event in 2:11.20.
Lastly, in the 100-yard freestyle, sophomore
Brianna LiCausi (Howard Beach, N.Y.) swam a personal-best 54.73.
