Kwok Honored as CollegeSwimming.com Metro Swimmer of the Week

SOMERS, Wis. (Feb. 23, 2016) - For the third time this season, LIU Post senior Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) has been named the CollegeSwimming.com Metropolitan Conference Swimmer of the Week, it was announced Tuesday morning.

This past weekend at the Metropolitan Championships, Kwok stood out, as she came in first place in three separate individual events. This included an NCAA "B" cut in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04:36. Kwok also broke her own school record in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking an NCAA "A" cut of 53.32. On the final day, Kwok took top honors in the 200-fly, touching the pad at 2:00.42.

As far as team events, she swam the third leg of the Pioneers' 200-yard medley relay, which won the event with an NCAA-provisional 1:41.49. Additionally, Kwok contributed to breaking a school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:32.03).

Kwok and the Pioneers now await word on who will be heading to Indianapolis, Ind. for the 2016 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, set to be held Mar. 9-12 at the IUPUI Natatorium.
