CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Mar. 14, 2016) - The East Coast Conference awarded its week-end honors Monday, and LIU Post women's lacrosse sophomore goaltender
Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was praised as its defensive player of the week.
Kirk was brilliant last week, sporting a 3.05 goals-against average and .700 save percentage in two starts. She also made 14 saves, a career-high 12 of which came in a 7-5 win over then-No. 4 University of New Haven on Saturday (Mar. 12).
Kirk presently leads all of Division II in goals-against average (3.35) this season, and ranks in the Top-5 in save percentage (.658). Additionally, her three wins are tied for second-best in the ECC.
Kirk and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Mar. 16), when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for a 4 p.m. opening draw at Philadelphia University.
