GRAND LAKE, Colo. (May 27, 2016) - LIU Post women's lacrosse senior attacker
Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) and senior defender/midfielder
Honey Roche (Centerport, N.Y.) have been selected to play in the 2016 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II North-South All-Star Game, the organization announced Friday.
Delaney had an East Coast Conference-leading 54 assists and 99 points in 2016. She ranked in the Top-10 in Division II in both statistical categories, as well. Additionally, Delaney tied for the sixth-most goals in the ECC with 45.
Delaney's efforts led to being named the ECC Offensive Player of the Year, and landed her spots on the All-ECC, IWLCA All-North Region and IWLCA All-America First Team.
Delaney, who was placed on the watch list for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, finished with 110 career helpers, making her the sixth Pioneer in program history to amass 100 or more assists.
Meanwhile, Roche tallied a career-high 39 points (25 goals, 14 assists) in her final campaign at LIU Post. She broke out offensively in the postseason, amassing nine goals and two assists for 11 points over a four-game span, including a five-goal performance in the team's NCAA Division II Tournament opener against University of New Haven.
Roche also collected 68 draw controls, 38 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers on the season, all of which were Top-10 totals in the ECC.
Lastly, Head Coach
Meghan McNamara, after guiding the Pioneers to a 17-4 record and their second-straight ECC title, was chosen to lead the North team for the second-consecutive year.
