NORFOLK, Va. (Jun. 22, 2016) - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America released its 2016 Scholar All-America Teams on Tuesday, and LIU Post had four of its swimmers appear on the Division II list.
The Pioneers' four honorees were all recognized to the CSCAA Scholar All-America First Team, after achieving a 3.50 grade-point average or higher and participating at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Those individuals were seniors
Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and
Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom), sophomore
Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) and freshman
Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand).
In all, a record total of 853 swimmers were named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams. More than one-quarter (226) of those selected have qualified for the upcoming United States Olympic Team Trials.
