GRAND LAKE, Colo. (Jul. 27, 2016) - For the fourth-straight year, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team has been named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Squad, it was announced Wednesday.
The Pioneers, who compiled a 3.25 grade-point average in 2015-16, were one of only 45 Division II programs to be recognized.
To be eligible for selection, a team must have posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the specified academic year. In all, a total of 275 schools, across Divisions I, II and III and NAIA, were chosen for the award.
In 2016, LIU Post went 17-4 and captured its second-consecutive East Coast Conference title in the process. Additionally, the Pioneers reached the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
