SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 17, 2017) - After winning a pair of events on Saturday, LIU Post junior swimmer Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) was recognized Tuesday as the CollegeSwimming.com Metropolitan Conference Swimmer of the Week.

It is the fourth time this season that Bendfeldt has earned weekly praise from CollegeSwimming.com. She received the same honor on Nov. 8, Nov. 22 and Dec. 6.

Bendfeldt clocked first-place times in the 50- (24.85) and 100-yard freestyle (54.19) in a 122-80 rout of Siena. She also swam the opening leg of the Pioneers' 400-yard medley relay, which won the event in 4:05.82.

Bendfeldt and the Pioneers return to the pool on Friday (Jan. 20), when they face New York University at 1 p.m. at the Pratt Natatorium in Brookville, N.Y.
