NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 25, 2017) - On Wednesday, the LIU Post women's swimming team was recognized for its work in the classroom, earning a nod as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Division II Scholar All-America Team.

The Pioneers boasted the second-highest grade-point average in Division II in the Fall 2016 semester, carrying a 3.71 GPA.

Their mark was also the third-best amongst all NCAA-sanctioned programs, trailing only Northern State (3.76) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.72).

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a program must have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the specified semester. A total of 64 women's teams from Division II were represented on the list.

Head Coach Michael Travers and his LIU Post squad return to the pool Saturday (Jan. 28), when they face Kutztown University in their final dual of the 2016-17 campaign at the Pratt Natatorium at 1 p.m.
