NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 25, 2017) - On Wednesday, the LIU Post women's swimming team was recognized for its work in the classroom, earning a nod as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Division II Scholar All-America Team.
The Pioneers boasted the second-highest grade-point average in Division II in the Fall 2016 semester, carrying a 3.71 GPA.
Their mark was also the third-best amongst all NCAA-sanctioned programs, trailing only Northern State (3.76) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.72).
To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a program must have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the specified semester. A total of 64 women's teams from Division II were represented on the list.
