Women's Swimming Opens Up Season With Victory Over Central Conn. State
Final Results
Brookville, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's swimming team collected a 110-89 victory over Central Connecticut State University, in its season opener, inside the Pratt Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
LIU Post opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as
Karis Fuller,
Caitlin Johnstone,
Laura Bendfeldt, and
Tove Sparrman defeated CCSU by nearly five seconds (1:43.73).
Fuller and Bendfeldt would follow suit with first-place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.15) and the 50 yard freestyle (23.79), respectively, and even further along the trio would earn additional first-place finishes in the 200 IM (Johnston, 2:09.99), the 100 yard free (Bendfeldt, 51.53) and the 100 yard backstroke (Fuller, 56.87).
Johnstone finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.87) to earn the additional nine points for the Pioneers.
