Gysels Named NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week

Julie Gysels of the LIU Post field hockey team. Additionally,
Emily Miller appeared on the Weekly Honor Roll.
Julie Gysels (Jr.) – Defensive Player of the Week
Julie Gysels helped fifth-rank LIU Post to back-to-back shut outs last week, before dropping a 4-3 contest to #4 Saint Anselm. The Pioneers held their opponents scoreless for 178:46 minutes during their 2-1 week. The Boom, Belgium native was also credited with an assist.
Emily Miller (Jr.) – Weekly Honor Roll
Miller tallied eight points in three matches last week as the LIU Post field hockey team posted a 2-1 record last week. The Bridgewater, N.J. native scored her first hat trick of the season in 4-0 win over Bellarmine on Monday afternoon. Now with a team-leading 28 goals, Millers ranks second in the conference in goals, points (62), and is third in game-winning goals (4). Additionally, she is second in the nation in points per game (3.88) and goals per game (1.75).
