Women's Bowling Opens 2017-18 Campaign at Griffin Invitational
Devon, PA – The LIU Post women's bowling team began its 2017-18 season with a 1-4 record at the Griffin Invitational, hosted by Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, October 28 at Devon Lanes.
After a slow start to the day losing the first three games, the Pioneers rallied against the top-seeded Griffins by winning six straight games and putting themselves in the title match against Kutztown.
The Pioneers fell short losing four games to one with one tie. The Pioneers were led by freshman
Patricia Kelly with a high game of 228 and a 166.8 average on the day in traditional games.
Junior
Sarah Busse averaged 160 with a high game of 203 in traditional games, and Victoria Lewis averaged 160.8 in traditional games.
Freshman
Emily Cavanaugh contributed with a 151.4 average, and freshman
Pamela Penso averaged 149.
In the Baker Format Victoria Lewis averaged 183,
Emily Cavanaugh 173, Sara Busse 166,
Patricia Kelly 159, and
Pamela Penso 131.5.
Emily Cavanaugh filled frames at a rate of 85% in Baker,
Sarah Busse 85%,
Patricia Kelly 80%, Victoria Lewis 85% and
Pamela Penso 45%, all in the Baker Format.
The Pioneers will travel to New Castle, Delaware for the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Wilmington University starting on Friday, December 1.
