GILBERT, Ariz. - After a 1-1 week on the road including an overtime loss at Assumption, the LIU Post field hockey team drops one spot to come in at No. 4 in this week's release of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top-10 Poll, as released on Tuesday.
The Pioneers (7-1, 4-1 NE10) secured 124 total points, flipping positions in the rankings with Northeast-10-rival Saint Anselm who is 10-0 overall and 5-0 in league play. The third-ranked Hawks will host LIU Post on Saturday, Oct. 21.
PSAC members Shippensburg and East Stroudsburg also switched spots in the rankings as Shippensburg received 18 of the 22 first-place votes to dethrone East Stroudsburg from the top spot for the first time this season.
Right behind the green and gold is West Chester who is currently tied for fifth with 72 total points. The Rams are set to host LIU Post on Thursday (Oct. 5) at 4 p.m.
The Pioneers are in action on Tuesday (Oct. 3) when they host seventh-ranked Pace for a 4 p.m. tilt at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
