Box Score Brookville, NY.| On Saturday afternoon, the LIU Post men's basketball team fell to No. 18 Merrimack College, 75-62, at LIU Post Thanksgiving Classic at the Pratt Center.
In a game that saw only one lead change, the Pioneers (0-3) were within a point from Merrimack (3-0), before the Warriors went on a 16-0 run to take a commanding 31-14 lead at the 8:08 mark. The Warriors continued its torrid pace and entered the break with a 12-point advantage (37-25).
During the second half, the Pioneers came within just five points (42-37) of the Warriors but it was Merrimack who re-extended their lead to 12 (61-49) with eight minutes to play. With 5:12 to play Merrimack had its largest lead of the night (67-52) before cruising to a 75-62 victory.
Aary Bibens led the Pioneers in points with 12 and collected six rebounds in the loss. Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor added 11 points, seven boards, and a steal.
