Lakewood, NJ| Thanks to a strong defensive showing the LIU Post men's basketball team cruised to a convincing 75-47 victory over Georgian Court University inside the Wellness Center on Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, the Pioneers move to 2-3 on the year while the Lions slide to 0-6. 

Pacing LIU Post was senior Kyle Taylor-McLeggan (6-8) and freshman Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor (4-9) who tallied 14 and 13 points apiece, respectively. Doucette also grabbed a game-best eight rebounds.

Senior Hunter Powell contributed 11 points on 3-for-5 shooting, and senior Aary Bibens went for nine points and four rebounds.

LIU Post tallied the game's first basket and later went up 13-7 at 13:44. Richard Altenord's three-pointer at 7:38 would give LIU Post a 21-13 lead and begin a crippling 17-7 run for the guests that put them ahead 38-20 at the break. 

The Lions opened the second with a quick five points, but LIU Post answered back with an 18-5 to extend its lead 56-30 with 8:38 to play in regulation.

A 1:49 a three-pointer by Justin Powell saw LIU Post go up 28 points, which was the largest lead of the night. From there it was easy going for the Pioneers who eased to a 75-47 win. 

LIU Post shot 38.3% from the field in comparison with Georgian Court's subpar 21% and also held edges in rebounding (50-35) and points off turnovers (8-5).
