Manchester, N.H.| The LIU Post men's basketball team suffered a 91-67defeat at the hands of Saint Anselm College in a non-conference exchange inside the Stoutenburgh Gym on Sunday afternoon.
With the defeat the Pioneers slide to 2-4 on the season as the Hawks improver to 5-1.
LIU Post too an early 9-3 lead 3:03 into the game but St. Anselm took its first lead of the game just over a minute later and maintained it for the remainder of the game. The Hawks, scoring in bunches in the first half, would go up 33-23 with 5:41 to play in the half before taking a 50-32 lead into the break.
The Hawks started the second half with a 12-3 run to go up by 27 points (62-35) with 14:35 to play. With 5:51 to play, the Hawks to the largest lead of the night (89-55) and would cruise to a 91-67 victory.
Jared River's 10 points led the Pioneers while
Hunter Powell contributed with 10 points. Justin Powell tallied nine points and three rebounds.
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday, November 29 when they return home to face Goldey-Beacom College at 7:00 PM. Follow the action
