LIU Post Soars to Fourth in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

Brookville, NY| On Thursday morning, the LIU Post Department of Athletics catapulted 16 spots to No. 4 in the latest Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup rankings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
 
The Pioneers, who sat at No. 20 in the initial rankings on Nov. 22, increased their fall scoring total to 227 points, after the men's and women's soccer teams' strong postseason pushes.
 
The LIU Post men's soccer team, who received the top seed in the NCAA Tournament, captured its third East Regional Title in four years
 
Meanwhile, the Pioneers' women's soccer team compiled their best record in program history (17-3-1). The Pioneers reached the second round of the NCAA Division II Championship for the fourth-straight year and advanced its second East Regional title game.
 
The green and gold trailed only Colorado School of Mines (279 points), California Baptist (249 points, and Grand Valley State (249) in the standings
 
The Pioneers also towered over the East Region in the process. Stonehill (133.50 points) followed in 12th, while Adelphi placed 21st with 114 points.
