SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 31, 2017) - For the first time in her collegiate career, LIU Post sophomore swimmer Brianna LiCausi (Howard Beach, N.Y.) was named the CollegeSwimming.com Metropolitan Conference Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

LiCausi put together a strong showing in the pool last Saturday (Jan. 28) to help the green and gold to a decisive 126-115 win against Kutztown in their 2016-17 home finale at the Pratt Natatorium.

She placed second in the 100-yard backstroke and third in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking individual times of 1:02.26 and 53.54.

Additionally, LiCausi swam a leg of the Pioneers' 200-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay, both of which finished first at 1:40.40 and 1:46.92, respectively.

LiCausi and her LIU Post side return to action Saturday (Feb. 4), when they compete at the New York University Invitational at the Palladium Athletic Facility in New York, N.Y.
