OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Feb. 4, 2017) - Five players scored in double figures Saturday to propel the LIU Post men's basketball team to a 94-83 win over East Coast Conference foe New York Institute of Technology at Recreation Hall.
Senior guard 
Jared Hall (South Orange, N.J.) collected 23 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double. He also dished out eight assists and swiped four steals. Senior forward 
Greg Dotson (Abington, Pa.) recorded a double-double (22 points, 11 rebounds), as well. Junior guard 
Kyle McLeggan (Jersey City, N.J.) poured in 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
Freshman guard 
Jared Rivers (Westbury, N.Y.) amassed 12 points, three rebounds and two assists. Freshman forward 
Kyle Doucette (Lynn, Mass.) added 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Freshman guard 
Tracy Cleckley (Queens, N.Y.) had five points, three rebounds and one block. Junior forward 
Hunter Powell (Tustin, Mich.) chipped in four points and four rebounds.
Leading 43-41 just over two minutes into the second half, the Pioneers (6-16, 5-7 ECC) reeled off a 21-6 run in a near eight-minute stretch to widen their advantage to 64-47 at the 10-minute mark.
Rivers and McLeggan each buried a three-pointer in the outburst. Hall, Doucette and Powell contributed a lay-up apiece. Dotson accounted for the last five points of the streak.
From there, the green and gold did not look back, en route to snapping a six-game losing skid. The Pioneers' stellar free-throw shooting also aided in the effort, making 24-of-31 attempts (77.4 percent) in the latter half.
In the opening 20-minute session, LIU Post, which led 43-39 at the intermission, owned as much as a 12-point advantage on a Doucette jumper with 5:19 to go.
For the contest, the Pioneers shot 50.0 percent (30-of-60) from the field, 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from three-point land and 75.0 percent (24-of-32) from the foul line.
