BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Mar. 5, 2017) - The National Collegiate Athletic Association recently released its list of qualifiers for the 2017 Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, and four Pioneers will vie for a national title.
Each of the four swimmers for LIU Post earned their qualifying times at the Metropolitan Conference Championships from Feb. 17-19 in Piscataway, N.J. They were:
- Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) - 50-Yard Freestyle, 100-Yard Freestyle, 100-Yard Backstroke, 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, 400-Yard Freestyle Relay, 200-Yard Medley Relay, 400-Yard Medley Relay
- Karis Fuller (London, England) - 100-Yard Backstroke, 200-Yard Backstroke, 500-Yard Freestyle, 1,000-Yard Freestyle, 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, 400-Yard Freestyle Relay, 200-Yard Medley Relay, 400-Yard Medley Relay
- Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand) - 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, 400-Yard Freestyle Relay, 200-Yard Medley Relay, 400-Yard Medley Relay
- Tove Sparrman (Upplands Väsby, Sweden) - 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, 400-Yard Freestyle Relay, 200-Yard Medley Relay, 400-Yard Medley Relay
The 2017 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships will be held from Mar. 8-11 at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
