Down 1-0 in the opener, the Pioneers rallied in their final turn at-bat with a pair of runs to grab a 2-1 lead.
Following back-to-back singles to start the inning, freshman third baseman

Then, with two outs, senior second baseman
Kayla McCoy (Smithtown, N.Y.) delivered a go-ahead two-RBI double to left to put the green and gold in front.
However, the Mavericks fought back and walked off for the victory in the seventh, on an RBI single to right-center by junior outfielder Morgan Lloyd (East Lyme, Conn.).

Samantha Marrone (Holbrook, N.Y.) drew a walk with the bags full to tie the score at 5-all.
The Mavericks responded again though and eventually walked off for the second-straight game. Senior shortstop Julie Gross (Port Monmouth, N.J.) hit a game-tying RBI single in the sixth, while freshman outfielder Destini Bullock (San Diego, Calif.) drove the game-winning RBI single in the seventh.
