WAPPINGERS, N.Y. – The LIU Post bowling team returned to action for the first time since Dec. 1, taking second-place overall at the Westchester Community College Invitational at Farmingdale Lanes Jan. 21.
The Pioneers were led by junior
Sarah Busse with a six-game total of 1,080, including a high game of 235 for a 180 average on the day. Freshmen
Patricia Kelly and
Emily Cavanaugh added six-game totals of 1,067 and 1,053, respectively. Fellow classmate
Pamela Penso contributed a high game of 183, while sophomore
Alexis Kosakavich netted a high game of 162.
Kelly and Cavanaugh captured second place in the doubles competition, compiling a three-game total of 1,088, while Busse and Kosakavich finished fifth with a 1,006 total.
During the baker competition, the Pioneers compiled a team score of 825, earning the top spot during that format.
Busse and Kelly's individual efforts earned them a spot on the all-tournament team for the day.
LIU Post returns to action on Friday, Jan. 26 when the team participates in the Red Flash Invitational in Altoona, Pa.
