NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN'S REGIONAL POLL
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA announced its initial regional rankings for Division II men's and women's soccer on Wednesday, Oct. 17 with LIU Post garnering a top-8 selection for both teams.
The Pioneer women's soccer team ranks fifth in the first regional poll of the season, while the men's team ranks eighth.
Following a 3-0 shutout of Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday, the Pioneer women's soccer team moved into second place in the East Coast Conference standings with 17 total points. The Pioneers briefly held the top spot before the University of Bridgeport defeated Molloy College later that evening. The Green and Gold host Daemen College on Saturday, Oct. 20 in its final ECC regular season matchup of the season as they look to secure a home playoff game. Senior goalkeeper
Hillevi Eklow has been outstanding in goal this season, ranking first in the ECC in shutouts (7) and second in goals-against average (0.89).
The LIU Post men's soccer team is looking to make a late-season push for home-field advantage during the ECC Tournament which begins on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The Green and Gold are currently in a four-way tie with Mercy College, Saint Thomas Aquinas, and Queens College with two games remaining in conference play. Graduate student
