SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Senior Rachel Londot of the LIU Post women's volleyball team was honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Tuesday as she was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Third Team.
The Google Cloud Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve player for their respective teams, participated in at least 50-percent of the team's contests, accomplished a 3.30 or better cumulative grade point average, and has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and have attended at least one calendar year at their current institution. Academic All-America recipients must have also received first team Academic All-District recognition.
Londot's other honors this season including being named to the All-East Coast Conference First Team, the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team and earning ECC Player of the Week on Sept. 24.
She led the team and finished second in the conference in kills with 359, was second on the team and third in the ECC in service aces with 50 and service aces per set with 0.43. Londot also led the Pioneers and finished third in the league in kills per set with 3.09. Her 387 digs and 3.34 digs per set both ranked second on the team and she ended the year with 15 double-doubles.
Academically, Londot boasts a 3.98 GPA and is a double major in criminal justice and forensic science with a minor in chemistry.
