CoSIDA Tabs Ostermann as Google Cloud Academic All-American

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. –
The College Sports Information Directors of America tabbed men's soccer graduate student Lukas Ostermann as a recipient of the coveted Google Cloud Academic All-America distinction as part of the national release on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
 
The Google Cloud Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve player for their respective teams, participated in at least 50-percent of the team's contests, accomplished a 3.30 or better cumulative grade point average, and has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and have attended at least one calendar year at their current institution. Academic All-America recipients must have also received first team Academic All-District recognition.
 
One of the top offensive threats in the country, Ostermann ranked second in the nation with 23 goals and 52 points. During the regular season, Ostermann found the back of the net in 14 of 16 matches, including eight multi-goal outputs. During the postseason, he tallied the game-winning goal to help the Green and Gold to its fourth-consecutive East Coast Conference championship against Mercy College. His 23 goals ranks second all-time in program history, finishing just one tally shy of the program mark of 24 set by Eivind Austobe during the 2013 season.
 
In the classroom, Ostermann boasts a 3.37 GPA in the Master's of Business Administration program at LIU Post. As an undergraduate, Ostermann compiled a 3.61 GPA.
