ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Men's basketball sophomore guard Jared Rivers captured All-East Coast Conference honors for the first time in his career as announced at the conference awards dinner Friday, March 2.
 
The Westbury native had a breakout season during his second year with the Pioneers. After averaging just over six points per game as a freshman, Rivers netted 18.5 points per contest this season, shooting 43 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. His 18.5 points rank third in the conference and his 87 percent shooting from the free throw line ranks second.
 
Rivers scored 20+ points in 13 contests this season, including a 41-point outburst against Post University where he finished 15-of-21 from the field and 8-of-12 from beyond the arc.
