Game One – LIU Post 12, Georgian Court 8
It was a wild game in the day's opener, as the Pioneers took advantage of six Lion errors and racked up 13 singles to take down Georgian Court 12-8. LIU Post scored in each of its six at-bats, recording just one extra-base hit on a double by Seader in the fifth inning.
The Pioneers stormed out to a 7-0 lead through the first three innings, plating one run in the first, two in the second, and four in the third. As the Pioneers closed in on the eight-run mercy rule, the Lions stayed alive with a four-run fourth inning behind a bases-loaded double and an RBI single to make it 7-4.
Following a leadoff double and a stolen base by Seader in the fifth, Fortin singled through the left side and later scored on a groundout to push the lead back up to three runs. The Green and Gold tacked on its final run of the contest when Seader legged out a double-play ball to allow sophomore
Ashley Casazza to score to put Georgian Court out of reach for good.
Junior
Hannah Olshevski earned the win despite being charged with all eight runs allowed. Freshman Hannah Finkelstein gathered her first collegiate save with three scoreless innings in relief.
Game Two – Minnesota-Duluth 17, LIU Post 2 (5 Inn.)
The Pioneers suffered a 17-2 setback to Minnesota-Duluth in the backend of the day's doubleheader. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first before tacking on 10 runs behind two home runs by
Jordyn Thomas in the second frame before pushing across four final runs in the third inning.
LIU Post scored two runs in the fourth inning, but the deficit was too much to overcome as the Green and Gold slipped to 3-3 on the season.
