IWCLA RELEASE
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The LIU Post women's lacrosse team was ranked No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Coaches Preseason Poll, as announced by the organization Monday.
The Pioneers garnered 497 points to earn the No. 7 ranking and were the highest-ranked team from the East Coast Conference (ECC).
LIU Post was ranked No. 6 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Top-20 Poll, announced Tuesday, January 8.
In 2019, LIU Post welcomes back 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) All-American junior duo
Brianna Feldman and
Alyssa Mallery. Along with Feldman and Mallery, 2018 All-East Coast Conference honorees redshirt-senior
Carly Spano, junior
Paige Sherlock, senior
Trish Brisotti, junior
Kendall Purdy and sophomore
Jill LoManto also return for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers won the East Coast Conference Championship in 2018 and made the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship.
LIU Post, who faces nine teams featured in the IWLCA preseason top-25 during the regular season, opens its season on Saturday, February 23 against Merrimack College at 11:00 a.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
