STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The LIU Post men's & women's track and field teams opened outdoor season by earning eight first-place finishes Saturday at the Wagner College Invitational at Hameline Field.
LIU Post's women had an outstanding day in the throws and were led by junior
Kaitlyn Klein who finished first in the discus (119'6), first in the shot put (36'7) and third in the hammer throw (130'10''). Freshman
Imoniri Aghomon took second in the shot put (34'0.75''), third in the discus (103'5'') and fourth in the hammer throw (122'8''). Sophomore
Alyssa Farrell also finished second in the hammer throw (132'4).
In the jumps, sophomore
Kelly Holownia finished first in the triple jump (33'2.50'') and second in the long jump (16'0.25''). Freshman
Nicole Iannuzzi also finished second in the triple jump (30'5.50'') while in the high jump, junior
Nicole Costanzo finished second (4'9'') and sophomore
Kayra Theodore took third (4'9'').
On the track, junior
Alexandria Okon won the 400 meters (1:00.35) and sophomore
Nataly Ramirez won the 400 hurdles (1:16.64). In the 4x400 relay the team of Ramirez, junior
Nicolette Agostinacchio, freshman
Margaret McKeever and Okon finished first (4:43.44) while the in the 4x100 relay Ramirez, Agostinacchio, sophomore Christiane Weber and Okon finished second in (54.48).
On the men's side, freshman
Robert Skidmore had a strong meet after finishing second in the shot put (41'0.50''), third in the discus (116'11') and fifth in the hammer throw (120'4'').
Sophomore
Destyn Harding won the 100 meters (11.03) and took second in the 200 (23.02) while freshman
DeAndre Smith won the high jump (6'0.75'') and finished third in the long jump (20'4.25"). Junior
Justin Ortega finished second in the hurdles (17.19).

Troy Benson, sophomore
Michael Krebs and Harding finished second in the 4x100 relay.
