Seader Named Top-10 Finalist for National Player of the Year Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced LIU Post senior catcher Julia Seader as a Top-10 Finalist for the Schutt Sports/NFCA National Player of the Year Award on Tuesday, May 14.
 
Seader becomes the first player in LIU Post program history to earn a top-10 distinction. The National Player of the Year will be announced on May 30 following the Division II College World Series.

Seader has proven herself to be one of the most dangerous hitters in the country this season, ranking eighth in hits (85) and 28th in batting average (.443), while also ranking 43rd in on-base percentage (.509). Along with her average and total hits, her power numbers are the most striking this season. Seader currently leads Division II in home runs (20), and total bases (160). She also ranks 11th in slugging percentage (.833), and 20th in runs batted in (59).
 
During the NCAA Championship, Seader has posted a .571 average (4-for-7) with two home runs, three RBIs, and three runs scored. In addition she has reached base 72.7-percent of the time, drawing three intentional walks and one hit-by-pitch. She will look to help lead LIU Post back to the College World Series when the Pioneers take on Saint Anselm College in the East Super Regional on Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 in Manchester, N.H.
