NFCA Tabs Seader as Division II National Catcher of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced LIU Post senior backstop Julia Seader as the Division II National Catcher of the Year at the National Championship banquet on Wednesday, May 22 in Denver, Colo.
 
Along with the National Catcher of the Year award, Seader was also tabbed as an NFCA All-American, her first All-America selection of her career.
 
21967Seader has enjoyed an outstanding senior campaign at LIU Post, ranking among the nation's leaders in several offensive categories while helping to rewrite the record book for the Pioneers. She currently leads the country in total bases with 173 and home runs with 21, while also ranking fifth in hits with 91, ninth in runs batted in with 63, ninth in slugging percentage at .861, 21st in batting average at .453, and 29th in on-base percentage at .522.
 
Her hot bat has carried LIU Post into the Division II National Championship, as she currently boasts a .625 average (10-16) with a .739 on-base percentage, three home runs and 10 hits. During the NCAA Tournament, her on-base percentage ranks second, while her average, home runs, and hits all rank third.
 
Seader and the Pioneers open the National Championship against No. 8 seed Young Harris College on Thursday, May 23 at 1:00 pm EDT. A free live broadcast and live stats are available for fans not able to make the trip to Denver.
