BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 1, 2008) -
The Dowling College Golden Lions scored three unanswered goals as they blanked men's soccer by a 3-0 score on Wednesday afternoon.

The win is the conference opener for Dowling as they improve to 6-2 over all and 1-0 in ECC play, while C.W. Post drops to 4-5 and 0-2 in the conference.

The Golden Lions got on the board in the 23rd minute as Moussa Keita took a deflection from Pioneer goal Demetrios Touros (Astoria, N.Y.) and sent it into the top of the net for a 1-0 Dowling lead.

Dowling would double the lead in the 68th minute when Lamine Traore scored his first goal of the game off a shot into the lower left corner past a diving Touros.

Traore's second goal of the game, a header off an Edo Eloni assist, sealed the win for the Golden Lions.

Touros made four saves in goal for the Pioneers, who were outshot 13-8 and saw Dowling also hold a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

The Pioneers will travel to Molloy on Saturday, Oct. 4, for their conference matchup against the Lions, slated for 3 p.m.
