PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 18, 2008) – Freshman second baseman Laurence Flammia went 3 for 4 at the plate and scored three runs as Pace University defeated C.W. Post, 8-1, in a Friday afternoon non-conference baseball game at Finnerty Field.
The Setters put together a five-run inning in the sixth that included an RBI triple to centerfield from junior right fielder Joe Cotone as well as a walk issued by freshman reliever
Eric Stampfl (Dix Hills, N.Y.) that plated the inning's fourth run.
Sophomore right hander Salvatore DePaola earned the win, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing one run on four hits while striking out one and walking two.
C.W. Post's lone run was scored in the sixth inning when sophomore shortstop
Bryan Bonin (Commack, N.Y.) reached first base on a fielding error by the third baseman and later scored on a wild pitch.
Senior
Keith Karlsen (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took the loss for the Pioneers, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing five earned runs on 10 hits while striking out one and walking two batters.
