Baseball Falls To UMass-Lowell, 16-0

PETERSBURG, Va.  (Feb. 28, 2009)
The UMass-Lowell baseball team proved too much for the Pioneers on Saturday, as they fell by a final score of 16-0 to the River Hawks.

C.W. Post falls to 0-3 overall while UMall-Lowell improves to 1-0.

The Pioneers got off to a tough start as the river Hawks took an early 6-0 lead after the first inning.  
Another two runs in the fourth and a seven-run fifth in which the River Hawks sent 12 batters to the plate did the damage for the Pioneers.

Bobby Kay
(Stony Brook, N.Y.) took the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits and five walks,striking out two. 

Kyle Walker
(Wantagh, N.Y.), Bryan Bonin (Commack, N.Y.), and Anthony Montesano (Bellmore, N.Y.) each rapped a hit for C.W. Post.

Head Coach Pete Timmes' Pioneers are back in action March 1 as they take one Southern Connecticut State University at 1 p.m.
