No. 3 Women's Lacrosse Turns Away Pfeiffer, 18-13

SEVERNA PARK, MD. (March 29, 2009) -
The third-ranked women's lacrosse team rolled to their fifth consecutive victory, defeating Pfeiffer by a final score of 18-13 on Sunday afternoon.

The Pioneers improve to 5-1 overall with the victory, while the Falcons slip to 7-4 on the season.

Several Pioneers scored in double figures to fuel the victory, led by Katie Hogan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y.) who each tallied four goals and notched an assist.  Hogan also garnered three draw controls.  Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) scored two goals and added three assists, and Samantha Lyons (Farmingdale, N.Y.) added two goals and two assists.  

Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Powers (Holbrook, N.Y.) made 12 saves to seal the victory for the Pioneers.

C.W. Post will play their home opener on Tuesday, March 31, as the host St. Thomas Aquinas at 4 p.m. on Hickox Field.
