No.2 Women's Lacrosse Posts Nine All-Conference Players

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 8, 2009)- The East Coast Conference released its list of All-Conference picks, naming nine C.W. Post women's lacrosse players to All-Conference rosters, as voted on by conference coaches Friday afternoon. The Pioneers boasted three First Team All-Conference honors and six Second Team All-Conference Selections.

Senior attacker Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y.) and midfielder Katie Hogan (Farmingdale, N.Y.), along with junior defender Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.) earned spots on the First Team All-Conference roster. Samantha Lyons (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), and Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) received Second Team All-Conference nods at the attack position. Midfielder Brianne Jackolski (Shirley, N.Y.), defender Jessica Wolff (West Islip, N.Y.), and goalkeeper Sam Powers (Holbrook, N.Y.) were also named Second Team All-Conference.

Napoli currently leads the Pioneers with 82 points this season. She has tallied a total of 58 goals and 24 assists, averaging a .752 shot on goal percentage. Hogan is first on the team with 60 goals and a total of 65 draw controls for the season. Williams has scooped up a team high 43 ground balls while causing 19 turnovers at the defensive position.

Passafiume has dished out a team high 41 assists, while scoring an additional 27 goals, ranking third on the team with a total of 68 points. Lyons follows behind Passafiume with 31 assists and 33 assists, placing fourth on the team with 64 points. In her debut season, Olen has notched 31 goals and six assists, and is second on the team with a .803 shot on goal percentage.

Jackolski has added 31 goals for the Pioneers, while scooping up 28 ground balls and grabbing 27 draw controls. Wolff has accumulated 8 caused turnovers, while earning 22 grounds balls and 11 draw controls for the Pioneers. Powers has earned a 15-2 record in net for C.W. Post. She posts and 8.79 goals against average and a .502 save percentage.

The Pioneers take the field again Saturday, May 9, as they host the University of New Haven in the NCAA Division II North Regionals. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
