ECAC Names Three Pioneers To Women's Lacrosse All-Star Team
CAPE COD, Mass. (June 11, 2009) – The Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Player of the Year announced the 2009 First Team All-Stars and seniors
Katie Hogan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and
Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y.) along with junior
Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.) were named to the squad, it was announced Thursday.
Hogan, a three-time IWLCA All-North Region first team selection, was the second-leading goal scorer on the Pioneers with 63 scores and 18 assists. The senior also led the team with 74 draw controls, 28 caused turnovers and was second with 36 ground balls.
Napoli is also appearing on the All-America team for the third straight season, as she completed her senior season scoring 60+goals for the second straight season as she led the Pioneers and also broke the single-season record with 67 goals. The senior finished third with 25 assists for a total of 92 points. She tallied four game-winning goals and was 10-15 in free position attempts.
Williams repeats last year's selection to the All-America team, and put up standout defensive numbers with a team-high 48 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and 20 draw controls. She also scored a goal and dished out three assists.
The Pioneers (16-3, 3-1 ECC) qualified for the NCAA Championships and advanced to the final four for the fourth straight year.
