CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May, 12, 2010) – The C.W. Post women's lacrosse team took all of the top position awards as senior midfielder Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.) was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year and freshman goalkeeper Dominique Mosca was Goalkeeper of the Year. In addition, Abigail Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) shared Rookie of the Year honors with Queens' Sarah Boucher and head coach Meghan McNamara was named Coach of the Year. This year's all-conference teams were highlighted with 10 Pioneer selections, the most the program has ever received.
The First Team included Williams, Mosca, senior attacker Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), sophomore attacker Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.), senior midfielder Brianne Jackolski (Shirley, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Chelsea Donaldson (Bay Shore, N.Y.).
Second Team selections included Ross, senior midfielder Kian Lyons (Farmingdale, N.Y.), sophomore attacker Lauren Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Brie-Claire Drost (Wading River, N.Y.).
 
Williams has been a staple on the Pioneer line-up this season. She leads her team with 53 ground balls and 47 caused turnovers while ranking second in draw controls (42). Offensively, she has tallied 28 points on the season, connecting for 22 goals and adding six helpers. Williams is ranked second in the nation and leads the conference with 3.13 caused turnovers per game and also tops the conference charts in ground balls per game (3.52).
 
Mosca stepped up to the challenge of starting goalkeeper in her first year donning the green and gold. She posted a 10-1 record defending the goal for the Pioneers while compiling a 7.32 goals against average to rank third in Division II.   A three-time ECC Goalkeeper of the Week selection, Mosca made 75 stops on the season, including three games with double digit saves, to tally a .497 save percentage.
 
Ross made an immediate impact on the Pioneers front line. She notched 27 points on the season off 18 goals and nine assists while adding 15 ground balls and 13 draw controls to her stat line. She was also named ECC Rookie of the Week this season.
 
Olen leads the Pioneers in scoring with 61 goals and three assists. She also is credited with 46 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. She was named Player of the Week earlier this season.
 
Passafiume leads the Pioneers in overall points with 28 goals and 42 assists. She is also second on the team in caused turnovers with 24 and has 13 draw controls and 44 ground balls. Passafiume was named ECC Player of the Week as well this season.
 
Donaldson is an intense defender and has helped keep opponents' goal totals down with six caused turnovers and 24 ground balls to go with 12 draw controls. Donaldson has also helped out offensively with two goals and an assist for the Pioneers.
 
Jackolski is third overall in scoring with 45 goals and 20 assists and has helped out defensively with 15 caused turnovers, 38 ground balls and has won 27 draw controls.
 
Lyons has been great in transition for the Pioneers this season and has scored three goals with four assists on offense while causing nine turnovers and picking up 17 ground balls. She is also credited with 10 draw controls.
 
Spagnoletta is second overall in scoring this season with 47 goals and has 10 assists. She also has 21 ground balls, 18 draw controls and six caused turnovers.
 
Drost has scored two goals so far this season and also has 18 ground balls, 22 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers on her stat sheet.
 
C.W. Post (16-1, 7-0 ECC) captured the ECC regular season title and qualified for its ninth NCAA bid. With the top ranking in the North Region, the Pioneers received a bye to advance directly to the semifinal round where they will face the winner of the Adelphi/Stonehill regional on May 22 at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa.
