IWLCA Names Five to All-America Teams
BALTIMORE, Md. (May 26 2010- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has honored five women's lacrosse players from C.W. Post with a selection to the association's All-American teams. Seniors
Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.),
Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and
Brianne Jackolski (Shirley, N.Y.) garnered spots on the First Team, while sophomores
Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) and
Chelsea Donaldson (Bay Shore, N.Y.) earned Second Team kudos.
The IWLCA will honor the national All-Americans at an awards banquet on June 12 201 in King of Prussia, Pa.
Williams earns her third All-America award, and again put up standout defensive numbers with a team-high 57ground balls, 49 caused turnovers, and 44 draw controls. Making the move to midfield this season, Williams also produced offensively, scoring 24 goals ad adding six assists for 30 points.
Passafiume, a senior attacker, repeats last year's selection to the All-America team, as she led the Pioneers with 42 assists on the season, also tallying 29 scores. She picked up 44 ground balls, good for second on the team, and totaled 71 points, tops on the squad.
Jackolski was the second-leading scorer on the Pioneers with 50 goals on the season and 105 for her career. She also added 20 assists was second on the squad with 70 total points.
Olen had a stellar sophomore year, with 61 goals on the season. Olen also led the Pioneers with 46 draw controls and scored a team-high 13 goals off free position attempts.
Donaldson was a standout defender for the Pioneers this season, often with the job of containing the opposing team's top scorer, and she responded with an outstanding season, picking up 28 ground balls and helping C.W. Post to hold opponents to just 6.42 goals per game.

In other Athletic Department news, registration is still open for the C.W. Post Pioneer Sports Academy, a new summer athletic camp for children ages 7 to 17. C.W. Post's NCAA Division II varsity coaches will instruct participants in boys' lacrosse, baseball, football and basketball and girls' lacrosse, softball, basketball and field hockey. Each individual camp will be held over a one-week period, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at a cost of $450. Children will be grouped by age, skill level and experience.
