Day Two: Two More Relay Finishes; Cassidy Competes Individually in the 100 Fly at the NCAAs

PALO ALTO, TEXAS (March 10, 2011) – After a sold first day at the NCAAs in Texas, the C.W. Post women's swimming team took to the pool once again on Thursday for the second day of competition.
The first even the Pioneers took part in on Thursday was the 200 Free Relay event, with Tamara Garriock (Duncan, Canada), Mairi Morrison (Carnock, United Kingdom), Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario), and Cornelia Hanes (Stockholm, Sweden) representing C.W. Post. The squad earned six points toward the team's overall tally with a 1:36.55 finish in the event. The time is good for fourth all time in Pioneer swimming history.
The lone senior on the squad, Cassidy, came back in the 100 Fly to help earn the Pioneers two points with a time of 57.61. 
One more event for the relay team saw results, as the four-some grouped to participate in the 400 Medley Relay. The order of Morrison, Garriock, Cassidy, and then Hanes earned two more points for the Pioneers with a finishing time of 3:57.38. 
After day two, the Pioneers are now in 20th place out of 33 teams with a tallied point total of 19. Two more days remain in Texas for C.W. Post.
